Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. It’s hard to explain how people and places get sorted now. I also started sorting people, those who were just asking to seem “normal” and “informed”, some who really were concerned but only because they were concerned for me and whether I’d function sufficiently to keep doing my job, and lastly, the ones who actually did understand which were very very few: one friend at work and my husband. The only safe white people. Even places I’d once loved to roam, I couldn’t tolerate. When I think of London, I don’t see the majestic buildings and layout, I see skulls and bones and the stolen wealth of nations, all bloodied and tattered holding up a dying, dissolving empire of disgust.

Thanks for sharing this. You’re absolutely right that the westerners aren’t raged enough. If anything, their rage is misplaced, not at their own evil regimes, but at the leaders of the targeted nations.

What’s really sick about the “fetish” is that it isn’t just those who want to use it to justifying the bombing, but also those supposedly anti-imperialist “lefties” sitting safely in the imperial core who ask more actions from Iran, which won’t cost them a single blood.

It’s one thing to support Iranians on the ground, including their demands, quite another to flexing your “revolutionary” muscle online for a few more likes.
